I love highlighting innovative therapeutic kids toys. Kid Companions jewelry is one of the coolest things I’ve come across recently. Children with a variety of developmental and emotional issues can benefit from Kid Companions “chewelry.” This unique pendant offer kids something to fidget with and chew on.
Pierrette d’Entremont noticed that her daughter, with Tourette Syndrome, SPD and OCD, very much appreciated a heart pendant she had made for her teething sister. She could fidget to focus discreetly and fashionably! Soon, we realized that other parents were looking for such accessories for their special needs children.
Kid Companions are BPA free, phthalate free and lead free. They include a breakaway safety clasp. The lanyards are made of organic cotton. (Interestingly, the pendants are a riff on nursing necklaces that were originally produced by the owners of Kid Companions!) Milestone Mom wrote a great, detailed piece on the chewelry if you’d like to learn more.

I am a foster parent of 4 high needs little ones and I think these are the best things I have seen in support tools for our children in a very long time.
i love the blue!
I would go for the black circle, because at almost 11 my son still needs a variety of fidgets/chewies, but I think he’d feel weird wearing a heart. The circle, though, could just be some sort of cool medallion.
I went with the black one for my son! That also kept his twin sister from being interested in it.
Wow, what a great product! My son would love this. We are looking for an object he can wear to school when he goes next year. He would LOVE the green heart!
My son is 6 with SID and would probably love the green one since that is his favorite color.
these look so cool! the blue circle from the website! one of my 3 year old twins can NOT keep anything out of his mouth, this would be perfect!
I’ve read about these and think they are perfect for children with sensory issues as well as anxiety disorder. My daughter would love the white one. Sorry for not leaving my blog url but my daughter doesn’t want anyone to know what she is diagnosed with.
I would pick the black one for my 5 year old son. He has a few sensory issues and lately he has taken to chewing on the collars of his shirts or sleeves, to the point where his shirt is soaking wet. He needs something to fidget with and chew on and these look perfect. What a wonderful idea!
What perfect timing! I was just looking for something like this for my son. I think the black circle would be great!
My son would love the black circle. I would love to break the chewing on his shirt habit.
My 5 year old little girl would love the pink heart, need something to keep her hands busy to help her stop picking her fingers untill they bleed…

How great! For us, it’d be a toss up between the pink heart and black circle. What can I say? Pink is my little dude’s favorite color
While shopping yesterday I met a friend who was talking about her son’s chewing/biting habits. I told her to order a Kid Companion. I’d love to win one to give to her son.

Green heart necklace. My friend recently gave birth to a beautiful boy. This necklace would make a wonderful gift.

I JUST discovered these, but think it will improve my daughters life tremendously! I am SO happy to have found them!

My 3 yr old daughter would love the blue one! I am going to order one, in case I don’t win!
I’ll love that she won’t chew on furniture, toys, clothes and anything else she can get her mouth around.

I’ve been searching for something a bit more masculine for my son to wear as a good chewy sensory toy-all the things look like girl necklaces and he is not to keen on wearing one but I just saw these and he thinks he’d wear one of the black or blue circles. I would love to give him something to chew on rather than everything-his clothes, toys, hands etc.
I have 2 special needs boys that love to chew. my oldest didnt start until just awhile ago. These would be perfect because they both chew on everythng – mostly the sensory ‘P’.These would be great for school! We would do the black and white circle. thank you.
My 8-year old nephew might ruin a few less shirts if he had the black circle sensory necklace to chew on.
My 5 year old daughter really needs something like this! The pink heart would be perfect!
I work in a school system with a variety of children with special needs. Would love to have the black ones!
I would love to have a black circle! So many kids need these!
This is a great tool for our special needs kids. We could really use a blue one. Thank you for the offer.
I love this product! A round black one would be fantastic for one of my students!
Hi i have a baby girl she is 4 years old and she has seizures and developmental delays and i need this chewy neclkace becuase she puts everything in her mouth so thats why i really need and sense i have try differents things like teething rings and other products the best thing it will work it will be the necklace and he color will be pink thanks
My daughter pointed to the pink heart when she saw them all pictured together
I loved this product as it did help my son NOT chew on his shirt, pencils, markers etc at school, however after 4 hrs he had totally destroyed the pendant by chewing on it…he is 6 yrs old. The rubber-type cover over the hard plastic comes off. I am looking for a more durable product but the idea of this one is great.
My daughter is 6 and is dual sensory impaired. She chews on her sleeves and collars and is ruining all her shirts. She especially does when she is reading and really trying to focus. We’ve tried some things at school but this looks like it might work for her. SHe loves the pink heart when she saw the picture. Thank you for the offer!

I’ve been looking for something for my now 10 year old boy to chew on…this necklace looks great, especially with the longer cord option. However, I get the heart logo…not cool to send a boy this age to school with hearts on anything LOL! He has ADHD and Asperger’s syndrome, so he struggles enough with peer criticisms. It would be nice to see something more age appropriate for some of the older boys.
